Wendy Little
Wendy Little has always had a knack for looking at a singular object and seeing an entire story attached to said object – in other words, she has a vividly creative imagination. The arts were encouraged in the Little home – Wendy started playing the piano at age five, violin at ten, and, as a child, regularly used family members and friends as objects for her photographic experiments. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, and shortly thereafter moved to London, England, as part of an American/British student exchange program. Ms. Little fell in love with London and made it her home for several years.
While in London, Wendy Little was a studio musician and arts journalist. Her love of photography and painting was fueled even more as she had the entire city of London as her muse. With all of London’s history and colorful characters, this brought an entirely new world of images for her to capture through her lens, canvas, and pen.
Little eventually moved back to the States, living in San Diego, CA. She now lives in the beautiful Great Lakes area. Moving from the compact city life, to one of great, open spaces, Little has recently focused on the natural beauty of our planet and the animals with whom we share this world. Ms. Little volunteers her time with animal rescue organizations and has had the joy of sharing her life with many wonderful animal companions.
Wendy Little travels the world as often as possible. Her most recent adventure took her to Transylvania, Romania, as well as to Giverny and Paris, France and Monaco. “I love to simply watch people and life…I try and capture a brief snippet of the life that surrounds us. This reminds us to pause, take a breath, and appreciate how beautiful things really are.”
Little’s photographs, sometimes described as “fairytale-like with a twist,” are somewhat subdued, while her acrylic paintings are colorful and bright.
